A Community built on lived experience
My Little Warrior Child CIC was founded by parents who know the ache of child loss firsthand — and who believe no parent should have to walk this road alone.
Our Story
Born of love, carried by hope.
My Little Warrior Child CIC exists because one mother refused to let her son’s brief life be a story of silence.
After the death of her son Morakinyo Caleb, our founder Detola Amure walked the long, uncharted road of child loss. In the weeks and months that followed, she found herself surrounded by well-meaning silence — and few resources shaped by parents who had actually lived it.
Out of that ache came a simple conviction: no bereaved parent should have to translate their own grief for the world. They deserve spaces already fluent in it.
My Little Warrior Child CIC was founded to become one of those spaces — a gentle, dignified home for the stories, tears, questions and quiet hopes of bereaved parents.
Our Mission
Our mission is to walk alongside bereaved parents by offering compassionate support, practical tools and trusted guidance that help them navigate grief, rebuild hope and rediscover purpose.
We also educate families, professionals and communities to increase awareness, strengthen support and address preventable loss, particularly where inequality, cultural barriers or lack of information may place families at greater risk.
Our Vision
A world where bereaved parents are supported to move from loss towards renewed hope, empowerment and a new sense of purpose, while communities are better equipped to understand child loss and help prevent avoidable deaths.
Our Values
Empathy
We listen with compassion.
We honour each person’s story.
We do not rush, judge or minimise grief.
Belonging
We create spaces where bereaved parents feel seen.
No one should feel alone in their grief.
Everyone is welcome, whatever their background or beliefs.
Collaboration
We believe support is stronger when people work together.
We partner with families, hospitals, hospices, churches, workplaces and community organisations.
Together, we can reach more bereaved parents.
Courage
We have honest conversations about child loss.
We make space for difficult emotions.
We encourage parents to take the next step at their own pace.
Resilience
We recognise the strength it takes to keep going after loss.
Resilience does not mean forgetting or hiding the pain.
It means learning to carry grief while continuing to live.
Faith
Our work is rooted in faith, hope and compassion.
We believe every child’s life has value.
We welcome and support families of all faiths and none.
Our Team
A Team Shaped by Lived Experience
My Little Warrior Child is led by a small and growing team of directors who each bring lived experience of child loss.
This lived experience matters deeply to us.
It means our work is not developed from theory alone. It is shaped by parents who understand the realities of grief, the complexity of rebuilding life after loss and the importance of being supported without pressure or judgement.
Alongside lived experience, our directors bring a range of professional skills, personal insight and a shared commitment to serving bereaved parents with care, integrity and sensitivity.
We are intentional about growing responsibly. As the organisation develops, we want to build a team that protects the heart of the work while increasing our capacity to reach more parents and families.
